Your work on expanding the entry is really going well, thank you for your work on this. Here are a few considerations as you revise:

As you revise, look at how other Wikipedia entries look and are organized. For example, the short section at the top works well as an intro in terms of content, but the header about Artwork is misleading--you don't need a header at all for the intro typically
Consider how to wordsmith the text so that your writing is clear and succinct. Thus this opening:

clarify the meaning of

this might seem a little nit-picky but

8th Century Merovingian books should be 8th-century Merovingian manuscripts (technically manuscripts is the word for these hand-written texts, whereas books are printed)

In general, give extra attention to beginnings and endings since they tend to get the most attention from your future readers

Therefore, maybe: Relevant to the gospels contained within could be wordsmithed into something like: Related to this manuscript's Gospel texts, (if that syncs w your intended meaning of course)

likewise you're making an important point at the end, and I think it works well content-wise, but please fine-tune the wording:
