Register / Entry Book[edit]

This article should really be entitled the "Foreign Births Register". The register is the one maintained in Dublin. The Entry Books are kept at Irish missions abroad. Caveat lector 20:33, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

Foreign Births Entry BookForeign Births Register —. As the previous comment above says, the article should be titled Foreign Births Register, with a redirect to it from Foreign Births Entry Book. The Foreign Births Register is the main subject of the article, and the Foreign Births Register is a total register of all foreign births with Irish citizenship, whereas each Foreign Birth Entry Book pertains only to a subset of such births. - 194.158.79.70 (talk) 02:11, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Start of registration system[edit]

The article says that "The system of citizenship registration was established by the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act, 1956." See however the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act, 1935, section 25(1) - "The Minister for External Affairs shall cause to be kept:— ... (b) a register to be called and known and in this Act referred to as the foreign births register." I propose to amend the article accordingly. Alekksandr (talk) 16:47, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
