[Untitled][edit]

Rabbi Deborah Waxman, Ph.D. is the president elect of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. She will take office on January 1, 2014, and is currently still serving as Vice President for Governance. In January 2014, it is believed that she will be the first woman to lead a rabbinical seminary and the first woman rabbi to lead a Jewish congregational union. Prior to January 1, 2014, it is misleading to state that she is, currently, the first woman "to lead" any of these institutions. In addition, the Jewish Reconstrucionist Federation -- which was the Reconstructionist congregational union prior to its restructuring to become part of RRC -- was led by a woman executive vice president, Judy Wortman, elected in 2002. So it is not correct to say that Waxman will be the first woman to lead a congregational union.--WUniver (talk) 20:31, 18 November 2013 (UTC) --WUniver (talk) 20:31, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
