Article history[edit]

This was created as a copyvio of http://www.dayofreflection.com/about_the_day.html . It looks likely to be notable, so I've stripped out all the copyright material and replaced with a stub. It now needs third-party references and substantial expansion. Gonzonoir (talk) 15:45, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

hi there, I created this page, but am new to the wikipedic and would request some help.

Please note that

The Day is not a national holiday - it has relevance to the Irish Diaspora, the United Kingdom, and a variety of international occurences that are part of the history of the conflict in and about Northern Ireland. this includes actions throughout Europe, Africa, and North America.

It has recently been highlighted in a UK Governemnt commissioned report as being of significant importance in securing peace with regard to the conflict. This has international resonance as many see the Northern ireland peace process as being of relevance to other conflict scenarios, and are keen to consider best practices that might be relevant in local context.

OK for starters you have a conflict of interest with the topic. Secondly by "national" holiday I mean it's celebration seems to be limited to Northern Ireland, and it's notability limited because of that. It doesn't help it's only happened once. You might claim that others see it as relevant, but without citations from reliable sources any claim is meaningless. Linking and quoting from the report would be a good first start, along with proof of international "celebration". --Blowdart | talk 16:24, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, your comment is noted, has taken place twice, and is scheduled to take place again this year. Conflict in NI spread all over, exiles still live abroad, and the event attempts to be all inclusive. Does the fact that it is relevant to the Republic of Ireland, and Britain, not make it more notable. people died all over the world as a result of the conflict. The experience of the conflict is now touted globally to other conflict affected regions. I think i need to work out how to do citations, but this is good, I would clearly be lost if I did this alone

What's the story, some edits onto the page are not appearing - any ideas —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anguslambkin (talkcontribs) 12:45, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
