Is BLP1E clear enough? Collect (talk) 23:14, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, probably. I think this page should redirect into the main story. --Salimfadhley (talk) 23:17, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I agree and will do so if there are no objections. The subject seems a rather ordinary police officer with a typical record; he is not notable in himself. User:Fred Bauder Talk 20:48, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
User:Everymorning, the editor who turned this article to a redirect, seems to believe he is notable enough for his own article. Maybe we should try to convince him otherwise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.3.78.62 (talk) 23:54, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

In my opinion, it's wrong to illustrate an article about a living person with a picture of that person's bruised face. The picture should be removed, ideally it should be replaced with a normal picture. FreeKnowledgeCreator (talk) 09:06, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the image (I added it only because no other image was available). Everymorning talk 11:34, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Early life and personal life needs to go[edit]

He is known for being the police officer that shot Michael Brown. He was justified in doing so and has been exonerated both civilly and criminally by both the Justice Department and and local prosecutors. He is not a public person. Details about early and personal life are tabloid rubblish that offers nothing except intrusion. Anything outside his life as a police officer is unnecessary and needs to be removed. We aren't doxers, we are an encyclopedia. --DHeyward (talk) 19:20, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to have to disagree. The Washington Post and The New York Times are not tabloids.- MrX 19:52, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No, they are news outlets. This information is not necessary to understand the topic and serves no encyclopedic purpose. --DHeyward (talk) 00:08, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It's moot anyway. This article is about to be merged with the shooting article.- MrX 00:22, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That's consensus but they have a backlog. I started the discussion due to BRD. I don't think any of that material is merge worthy which is why removing it cuts down on privacy issues and makes the merge/delete or redirect less pressing. --DHeyward (talk) 01:00, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
