No criticism of this ridiculous project allowed? What did the company do with its 13,000,000$ of funding?

While this post is old, I have seen the question asked elsewhere, and I figure here is a good place to answer it. Simply put, the price of the Coolest Cooler was too low. On release on Kickstarter, you could pre-order one for $185 US. It came with the cooler, a rechargeable blender, and a waterproof Bluetooth speaker. In 2014 prices, these separately would have been more than $200 US. Finding a place to produce the cooler, the speaker, and the blender all in one is also expensive. Most likely, all the funding went to finding a producer, costs for failed units, and making the backers' units. When the Coolest Cooler hit the market, from what I could find, the starting price was $400 US. They had to charge way more so they could get enough profit to pay for the backers' units.
Let this be a lesson to do research into the costs of a product before selling it. LeoLeoSuper (talk) 15:24, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
