IMDb[edit]

Just for the record, we have discussed imdb before and decided it isn't a reliable source. - SummerPhD (talk) 12:20, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

 • I went on Charlotte Arnold's page on IMDb and IMDB says she was born in 1989 and she was born and raised in Toronto, I know about her biography and her information and do not remove it's date of birth and birthplace from the IMDb's information. Steam5 (talk) 17:44, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
IMDb is not a reliable source. Please review Wikipedia:Citing_IMDb: IMDb is reliable for some writing credits and nothing else. - SummerPhD (talk) 18:10, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
 • I check the Wikipedia article in the German language of Charlotte Arnold and the German Wikipedia article says she was born in 1989 do not remove it's date of birth from the English Wikipedia article or it's IMDb date of birth and birthplace, I have sources and information about her, please stop removing it's date of birth or birthplace, that's what the German Wikipedia article says. Steam5 (talk) 18:24, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
IMDb is not a reliable source for most things because it is (essentially) user edited. German Wikipedia is not a reliable source because it is user edited. Please review WP:RS for a better understanding of what constitutes a reliable source. I will allow the current "information" to remain there briefly, with a "cite needed" tag to allow you some time to find a reliable source. Failing this, I will remove it again. - SummerPhD (talk) 18:30, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
 • I check on TV.com and there is her date of birth that she was still born in 1989 and so does IMDb, the date of birth and birthplace is important to this article, if not leave it out or go to IMDb page, TV.com page, German Wikipedia Article or Finnish Wikipedia Article Note: Users must speak both English and German or Finnish and English. Steam5 (talk) 19:25, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
 • I check on Charlotte Arnold's article on TV.com it was confirmed that she was born in July 27, 1989 according to her biography on TV.com and also from it's German and Finnish Wikipedia articles, so I remove it's "Cite needed". Steam5 (talk) 00:01, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am not disputing that IMDb says her birthdate is July 27, 1989. Ditto TV.com, Finnish Wikipedia, German Wikipedia or any other language's Wikipedia. What I am saying is that none of these are reliable sources: all of them are user editable. At any of these sites users may edit the articles to say she was born on February 32, 2019 and lives on Mars. They are not reliable sources. "Articles should rely on reliable, third-party, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy." None of the sources you are citing meet that criteria.
In fact, all of them might be claiming each other as the source: Someone adds something to Finnish Wikipedia, an editor at the German Wikipedia see the Finnish date and adds it there, then English Wikipedia cites German and TV.com cites any one of the others. Meanwhile, someone at Finnish Wikipedia thinks the date is wrong and asks for a source. Finnish Wikipedia then cites TV.com. They might all be right, or they might all be wrong. In any case, none of them have a verifiable date. - SummerPhD (talk) 12:22, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
She's is not born on February 32, 2019 and she did not lives on Mars. But TV.com, German Wikipedia, Finnish Wikipedia and IMDb have said July 27, 1989 and she was born in Toronto do not remove it's date of birth and birthplace that's what the information says. Do not remove any of it's information. Steam5 (talk) 03:41, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
TV.com is not a reliable source, what it says is irrelevant. German Wikipedia is not a reliable source, what it says is irrelevant. Finnish Wikipedia is not a reliable source, what it says is irrelevant. IMDb is not a reliable source, what it says is irrelevant. Sites that "anyone can edit" (such as TV.com, German Wikipedia, Finnish Wikipedia and IMDb) are not valid sources. The only exception is that IMDb is reliable for some writing credits. - SummerPhD (talk) 12:25, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Umm?[edit]

She plays the character Holly J Sinclaier the mean girl in Degrassi Next Generation!

Yeah, that's a perfect sentence - I edited that. '''[[User:Brittanymouse|Brittany]][[User talk:Brittanymouse|Mouse!]]''' (talk) 18:11, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
