@Mitch Ames, I noticed you've done a little bit of work on this page. I'd create a draft that I'd be working on for a couple of weeks with source taken from 2021 Australian Parliament House sexual misconduct allegations. I've submitted it to AfC today. I propose that the Draft is more fuller and should be the article in mainspace. TarnishedPathtalk 06:16, 15 April 2024 (UTC)

OK, thanks for the notification. Mitch Ames (talk) 06:43, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
I was going to ask about a potential error in the current article, but think your draft would be a far superior improvement. Seems like excellent work to my uninformed self. 125.253.49.106 (talk) 10:53, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
@125.253.49.106, feel free to work on the draft. No one WP:OWNS articles on Wikipedia. TarnishedPathtalk 11:00, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
Ps, I had another article to work off which made it a lot easier. TarnishedPathtalk 11:01, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
Moving/merging the draft to main space should be done sooner rather than later, to reduce duplication of work (see both articles' ongoing edit history) and (probably) ease the task of merging. Mitch Ames (talk) 07:32, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
@Mitch Ames I was going to wait for an AfC review but I'll WP:BOLD merge the draft over tonight when the kids are in bed. TarnishedPathtalk 08:02, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
+1 support for bold merge. Mitch Ames (talk) 09:22, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
@Mitch Ames done. I hope I didn't butcher it too much. TarnishedPathtalk 11:02, 17 April 2024 (UTC)

Is it actually reasonable to say he raped Higgins when it was "on the balance of probabilities"? I think that's a very important distinction to make, particularly in the first paragraph.

Please not, "Editors should always provide depth and detail appropriate to an encyclopedia", "must be written from a neutral point of view (NPOV), which means representing fairly, proportionately, and, as far as possible, without editorial bias", and "The allegation belongs in the biography, citing those sources. It should state only that the politician was alleged to have had the affair, not that the affair actually occurred" (see: Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons).

IMO, it should be written in a way that it's clear that it is on the balance of probabilities, particularly in the opening paragraph. Saying he raped Higgins based on balance of probabilities is simply inaccurate. It also avoids the reader from misinterpreting this as a criminal conviction, which is what you would expect from a rape case. Also, the second paragraph of the introduction seems like it should fit in the legal section. Mag1cal (talk) 16:15, 15 April 2024 (UTC)

In this respect, editors may want to change the infobox's "Known for" field as well. AbsoluteWissen (talk) 11:13, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
