Leykaul and several farms[edit]

"Some parts of the village Leykaul and several farms in the Monschau district of Kalterherberg."

Could someone please provide more detailed information on the specific divested areas being described for this border territory? A map (or a link to a map) showing the boundaries of the "parts" and the "farms" would be ideal. The statement makes it seem that these various pieces were non-contiguous. Was that the reality between 1 April 1949 and 10 September 1958?

Here is a useful map taken from the relevant treaty of 1922:

It shows what the boundaries of Ruitzhof and Leykaul were after the German-Belgian boundary was redrawn following World :War I. Notice that within the German border, Leykaul includes a section that lies west of a road shown on the map at :marker 651. In maps after 1958 this western section appears within Belgium. So it appears that Belgium returned the :eastern portion of the Leykaul territory that it had annexed in 1949 but retained the western part of Leykaul.
It would still be useful to know where the "parts" and "farms mentioned in the article were located.

this two videos should give more insights

in this video the uploader drives through the old border crossing, btw. this was one of the points were Germany in 1940 raided Belgium, and in 1944 US troops invaded Germany

in the 1990s they changed the border crossing, here at the end of video, there you can see also Leykaul street on the right. Now its much easier e.g, for the wood trucks

Exclaves from 1922 did not become "planned" for creation after WW2[edit]

Why does the article state that these exclaves were planned for creation after WW2:

  • Ruitzhof
  • Mützenich
  • The farm Rückschlag near Konzen
  • The western part of the town Lammersdorf near Simmerath
  • Parts of Roetgen?

These were created in 1922 and still exist. They appear not to be part of post-WW2 annexation plans. Jeff in CA (talk) 20:05, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
