University type[edit]

In the infobox, the type "An Institute of Bangladesh Army" is not helpful to readers.

The word institute is too vague. It can mean any kind of research or advocacy organization. When used in the context of an educational institution, it normally means something separate from a university, although sometimes associated with one. It can also mean a short, intensive course, such as one conducted over a weekend or perhaps a few weeks. None of its meanings convey what type of university BAUST is.

Perhaps the intent was to show that the university is related to the Bangladesh Army, but that fact is already obvious from the name of the university, and is mentioned in the body of the article. Although an army-backed university might plausibly be very different from an ordinary university, the available sources don't show any difference from ordinary universities, so putting "Bangladesh Army" in type doesn't help readers understand the kind of university BAUST is.

The University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, like much of the rest of the world, divides universities into two groups: public and private, and that is the most useful information to put in type. The parameter can also communicate a specific field of study (such as an agricultural, law, or medical university), or, as explained in Template:Infobox university/doc, the level of study (undergraduate, graduate) or length of programme (two year, four year), but such distinctions are only needed if the university is out of the ordinary.
