Early life and shogi professional section[edit]

I've moved the following to the talk page so that it can be sorted out and rephrased as needed. The English is not really very good (most likely because it was not added by a native English speaker) and much of it appears to be too literal a translation from Japanese. Moreover, the content is unsourced which may be acceptable on Japanese Wikipedia, but not really on English Wikipedia, where WP:BLP is the main policy dealing with articles about living persons.

This is the content I removed:

Early life

Matsuo was born and raised up in Nisshin, Aichi, and started to play a shogi since his childhood. In 1994, he entered Apprentice professional training school, Shoreikai which is a sort of school for being a professional, then in 1999, he became a professional player after beating rivals in the three-degree league finished with the first prize. It was the first season to play in the third-degree league for him.

Shogi Professional

Matsuo, 2001, won the rookie league and also got win in all games in the C2 class of Meijin league. In this year his winning average was 0,744, which was third in whole professionals.
In 2009, he upgraded his place to the B1 class of Meijin league.
On 11th March 2011, he was in a game of the B1 league with Nobuyuki Yashiki when a massive earthquake happened. The game was important as they contested a seat of A class. Having evacuated but continued to play, he got lost then he remains to play in B1.
In 2017, he became a triumph in a league for a dragon king, and he advanced a final tournament. In there, he won and pushed into a game for deciding a challenger to Akira Watanabe Ryu-oh. There were three games with Yoshiharu Habu won through another side of a tournament; a player needed to win twice. Although he got a win in the 2nd match, finally he could not get a ticket for a match with Watanabe who is same pupils of under Shoshi tuition.

This was a good faith attempt for sure, but it needs quite a bit of copyediting before it can be re-added to the article. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:24, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Personal life[edit]

I removed the personal life section with this edit per WP:BLPSOURCES and WP:NPOV. The entire section had a gossipy tone to it and the only sources provided was to an interview given by Matsuo and tweet by Amahiko Satō. These are considered primary sources on English Wikipedia which means they have to be used very carefully and only in certain contexts in articles about living persons per WP:BLPSELFPUB, WP:BLPPRIMARY and WP:BLPSPS. This type of content may be accepted on Japanese Wikipedia, but WP:BLP is quite clear that this type of content is not really acceptable on English Wikipedia. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:33, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
