Papal/regnal name[edit]

Does the phrase "…who then went by the name of Theodoric" mean subsequently or at the time of his election? The former seems to conflict with Pope Sylvester III and the latter makes the La Cava plaque confusing. 72.152.231.101 (talk) 18:18, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
