If Italy and USA both lose their remaining games, and Australia and Switzerland win their remaining games, there will be a three-way tie for 2nd at 5-2. At that point ITA/USA/AUS would be decided by DSC and the result of that is yet unknown. So neither ITA nor the USA have clinched.18abruce (talk) 17:40, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
- If either one did finish 4th, they would be the only 4th placed team with 2 losses which would suggest receiving the 16th seed. But the rule book is not clear on this and does say (on page 52) "If 5 groups, the top three teams qualify directly for the 1/8 finals, as well as the 4th ranked team with the best DSC result."18abruce (talk) 18:44, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
