Wadi Rum is the largest wadi in Jordan. In the far southern part of Jordan, the valley is known internationally through the writings of T. E. Lawrence, which later led to the film Lawrence of Arabia being partially filmed in the wadi in 1962. A number of other films have been shot on site since, including scenes from Star Wars. The wadi is a World Heritage site.
