Materialists is an upcoming American romantic-comedy film written and directed by Celine Song.
Premise[edit]
Set in the New York City, the film follows the story of a match-maker, her ex-boyfriend and a wealthy businessman.

The project, then titled The Materialists, is written and directed by Celine Song and was announced in February 2024 with producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler of Killer Films and David Hinojosa of 2AM, with A24 co-producing, distributing in the U.S. and handling sales elsewhere. Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal joining the cast, with Sony Pictures acquiring international distribution rights outside Russia, China and Japan at the European Film Market and the title revealed to be simply Materialists.[1][2] In May 2024, Zoë Winters, Dasha Nekrasova, Louisa Jacobson and Marin Ireland were announced to have joined the cast.[3]
Principal photography began April 29, 2024, in New York City.[4][5]
