The Conflict[edit]

After the Battle of Sondani , Huna power in India was greatly reduced and was only confined to far northern territories of India, by the 8th Century C.E., the Hunas were reduced to small principalities located in the west of the Himalayas. During the Tripartite Struggle , they were often raided by the Tripartite powers.[1]

The Badal Pillar Inscription speaks about Devapala's victories over the Hunas. The Hunas were the nomadic tribes who seemed to occupy parts of Punjab.

Badal Pillar Inscription

It is reasonable to presume that the Hunas were allied by the Pratiharas in their encounter with the Palas. Devapala subjugated the Hunas , and proceeded to the country of the Kambojas.[2]
