Loomis Music Journal was a publication of the Loomis Temple of Music Store in New Haven, Connecticut. The store was founded in 1865 by Clark Merrick Loomis, a carriage maker who served in the 6th Connecticut Regiment during the American Civil War. [1]

His children continued the publication after his death. The store relocated from 233 Chapel Street in 1869 to the corner of Orange and Center Streets, and then to a new building located at 833 Chapel Street in 1889.[1]
