Jordan Eagles (artist)[edit]

Jordan Eagles is an artist that specializes in the artisitic presentation of blood.[1] Eagles' work varies greatly from lightwork installations, photography, painting, sculpture, and public programming. The themes of Eagles' work is also varied as he tends to blend different stigmas and ethics into his work, from the taboo surrounding gay and bisexual men's blood to the liminal and transformative qualities of blood itself, Eagles' art is multifaceted.

Artistic career[edit]

Jordan Eagles' has been using blood as a medium since the late 1990s.[2] His first exhibition using blood was titled "Hemofields". While Eagles was studying art at New York University, he started substituting red paint with animal blood. Eagles felt, according to the New York Times, that the red paint was flat and decided to go to a butcher in Chinatown for blood.[3]
