Babil Khan (born 15 May 1998) is an Indian actor. Son of veteran actor late Irrfan Khan, he began his career as a camera assistant with Qarib Qarib Single in 2017, before making his acting debut in Bollywood with Qala in 2022.

Early life and background[edit]

Babil Khan was born on 15 May 1998,[1] in Mumbai to actor Irrfan Khan and writer Sutapa Sikdar.[2][3] He has a younger brother, Ayaan Khan.[4] He lost his father on 29 April 2020 due to neuroendocrine cancer.[5][6]

Khan completed his schooling at Tridha School, Mumbai and studied further at the University of Westminster, London.[7]

Khan has great interest in astronomy, music and playing guitar.[8] He likes singing, painting and has an eye for photography, and even possesses a passion for cricket. Through the years, he has often showcased his voice and storytelling skills over social media.[9]

Career[edit]

After completing his studies, he started as a camera assistant in Bollywood film Qarib Qarib Single.[10]

In 2022, he made his acting debut with Anvita Dutt's psychological drama Qala alongside Tripti Dimri.[11] He was critically acclaimed for his performance.[12]

In 2023, he was seen playing Juhi Chawla's son Siddharth Menon in a Netflix original film Friday Night Plan.[13] He starred in YRF's web series The Railway Men, a story on Bhopal Gas Tragedy, alongside Divyendu Sharma, Kay Kay Menon and R. Madhavan in pivotal roles.[14]

He will also star in Shoojit Sircar's The Umesh Chronicles with Amitabh Bachchan.[15][16]

Other work[edit]

In September 2023, he joined the All Stars Football Club, a celebrity football club which organizes football matches, proceeds from which go to charity.[17]
