Purpose of this category[edit]

What is the purpose of this category, which people should be categorised as "Cultural Revolution people"? People who were living in China during that period? People who were supporters of the Cultural Revolution? People who were struggled against during the Cultural Revolution? Please explain. — Babelfisch 01:55, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This categorisation would probably be offensive to some people listed. As there has been no reply for more than two months, I propose to delete this category. —Babelfisch 01:16, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why it shouldn't be deleted[edit]

The only problem I have with this category is that it isn't well named, as well as it should have more people listed. It was started most likely to be a listing of people who were involved (majorly) in the Chinese Cultural Revolution, such as the Gang of Four, and so on. I don't know why you wouldn't want a category like this. --Echoghost 04:24, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As long as it's not clearly defined, it doesn't make sense. What does "majorly involved" mean? (Involved as a victim, or involved as a supporter, ...). Two examples of people who are currently in this category: Joan Hinton was not "majorly involved" at all in the Cultural Revolution - unless putting up one single poster counts as "major involvement"; Lao She was struggled against during the Cultural Revolution. How can Joan Hinton and Lao She be in the same category as the "Gang of Four"? —Babelfisch 02:42, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
