Disneyland is an American theme park located in Anaheim, California, owned and operated by the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts division of The Walt Disney Company. It was dedicated with a press preview on July 17, 1955, and opened to the general public on July 18, 1955. Disneyland holds the distinction of being the only theme park to be designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney himself.

As of 2005, the park has been visited by more than 515 million guests since it opened, including presidents, royalty and other heads of state.

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is a large outdoor sports stadium in Exposition Park in the University Park neighborhood of Los Angeles that is home to the University of Southern California Trojans football team.

The Capitol Records Building is one of the most distinctive landmarks in Hollywood. The 13-story earthquake resistant tower, designed by Welton Becket, was the world's first circular office building. The building is located in the Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment District.


The Beach Cities are located along the California Coast south and west of Los Angeles in the South Bay area of Southern California. The beach communities include Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach. All three cities are renowned for their beaches and have municipal piers as well as shopping and eateries along the coastline. The strand runs along the beaches and is popular for cycling, running and rollerblading.
