It should be noted that this map is not entirely accurate since it does not identify several villages west of Tshkinvali which are under Georgian control such as Avnevi. From this map, one would think that the region west of Tshkinvali was fully under South Ossetian control. But I suppose the map is for information purposes only. Hence, it is acceptable.
