On top of what?[edit]

This image is used in article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exhaust_gas_recirculation In the article, the caption says, "EGR valve the top of box on top of the inlet manifold of a Saab H engine in a 1987 Saab 90"

First of all, the wording needs to be straightened out. Sorry I'm not familiar enough with the facts to quick-edit it myself.

Also, the caption only points the reader to the EGR Valve by saying it's "on top of the inlet manifold." It's not my main point, but I think "intake manifold" is a more common name than "inlet manifold," so I ask if that word should be changed.

For orienting myself around the engine compartment, I finally found the radiator, so I ascertained where the front of the car is, but that's as far as I got. My problem is that I can't tell an intake manifold from an exhaust manifold, so the guidance doesn't work for me. Therefore, I might suggest adding to the image an arrow pointing at the EGR Valve, and mention in the notes that it's mounted atop the intake manifold, consistent with the narrative in the article.

Whether the decision is made to modify the image or not, feel free to delete this comment after considering it. Thanks; -neil- Nei1 (talk) 21:51, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
