The hermitage building where Seung Sahn first attained enlightenment in 1949 at the end of a 100-day intensive solo retreat, on Won Gak Sahn Mountain, above Magok Sah Temple, South Korea. He spent his last years in Hwa Gye Sah Temple, in the mountains above Seoul, South Korea.
