Description
English: Although the hydro project failed, the canal was used by the Britannia Yacht Club to create a protected harbour. Boulders from the excavated canal were used to built the Britannia Pier some 1.3km away.

Source The photo was published in 1983 on page 250 of the first edition of: Taylor, E; Kennedy, J (2017) [1983]. Ottawa's Britannia. The Britannia Historical Association, 441 pages. ISBN 978-0-88970-185-4. The image was obtained by downloading the image from the electronic database of all photos contained in the book. The database is held by the Britannia Village Community Association. The image is also available from City of Ottawa Archives (CA001826) at the same resolution.
Author The photograph was taken by the Royal Canadian Air Force.
