This lighthouse is on the west side of the Avon River near its mouth. The original 1851 structure, featured a three lights that projected from the roof of the keeper's home through a window.
The 1851 lighthouse burned down in 1883. Five months later a square wooden pyramidal tower with attached dwelling, replaced it.
The present lighthouse was built in 1984 along with two keeper's dwellings, and the previous lighthouse was pushed over the cliff and burned.
This lighthouse features an 8.7m (28.5ft) high tower rising from one corner of a square, flat-roofed building.
