| Description |
English: Romanian irredentist coat of arms of Bessarabia, as used on Dumitru C. Moruzi's Pribegi în țară răpită. Roman social basarabean ("Outcasts in the Stolen Land. A Bessarabian Social Novel", 1912). Featuring the old Moldavian aurochs-and-star; and the more recent Moldavian color scheme of gules and azure, with the unusual arrangement per bend sinister (a "Bessarabian red-on-blue flag" was used that same year by Moruzi and others who gathered to mourn 100 years of Russian occupation; see Anghel Popa, "1812—1912. Centenarul anexării Basarabiei și implicațiile sale asupra națiunii române", in Revista Istorică, Vol. 7, Issues 9–10, September–October 1996, p. 751). The heraldic crown is the Iron Crown of the Romanian Kingdom. |
