Object history
Deutsch: Dörlinbach, Schuttertal und Schweighausen schlossen sich am 1. Januar 1974 zur neuen Gemeinde Schuttertal zusammen. Damit verloren die zwischen 1899 und 1907 angenommenen Wappen der Ortsteile ihre amtliche Gültigkeit. Das vom Generallandesarchiv entworfene und vom Innenministerium am 21. April 1975 verliehene Wappen weist auf die historischen Herrschaftsverhältnisse vor 1803 im Gemeindegebiet hin. Der rote Balken in Gold ist das Wappen der Geroldsecker und der Herrschaft Hohengeroldseck, der Krummstab steht für das Kloster Ettenheimmünster und die Bischöfe von Straßburg. Dörlinbach und Schweighausen gehörten dem Kloster Ettenheimmünster, wobei die Herren von Geroldseck die Vogtei ausübten. 1634 bis 1803 hatte das Hochstift Straßburg die Landeshoheit über beide Orte. Auch in Schuttertal besaß Ettenheimmünster Rechte, während die Ortsherrschaft bei der Herrschaft Hohengeroldseck lag.
