Summary

Description
English: Leaflet written and designed by J. H. Chamberlain appealing for new subscribers to the Midland Institute (i.e. the Birmingham and Midland Institute). Distributed at the 1866 Conversazione. Chamberlain (Secretary of the BMI, 1865-83), appears in the first woodcut, signing up Hercules as a new member. This is a facsimile of the original leaflet, published in Rachel E. Waterhouse, 'The Birmingham and Midland Institute, 1854–1954' (Birmingham, 1954).
