English: Daguerrotype image of the Sun using a 1/60 second exposure, taken on 2 April 1845 at 9:45 AM by Hippolyte Fizeau and Léon Foucault. This is the earliest known photograph that clearly shows the presence of sunspots on the Sun's surface.
